1. Freewrite.

2. Vocabulary notes. We took notes through #18.

3. Three types of verbs. Students received this handout and we practiced diagramming verbs: G2 3 Kinds of Verbs.

1. Freewrite.

2. Intro to Parts of a Sentence. Students took notes and practiced diagramming sentences. Here are the notes, which go on G1:

Subject: The thing or person the sentence is about. Goes with the predicate verb of the sentence.

Predicate: The main verb of the sentence. What the subject does. Complete predicate: the verb and everything related to the verb.

Direct Object: Who/what the verb does. I sing. Sing what? Songs. Songs is the direct object.

3. Practice diagramming. Students received whiteboards and we diagrammed some sentences.

HW: Read Ch. 15 for Monday, Ch. 16, 17, 18, 19 for Wednesday.

5. Preposition song. We began learning the song to memorize our prepositions! Students received sheet music. Awesome!
